Two different meanings of satin
A printed satin label uses a satin-type label material as the surface for print. A satin-weave label creates its design through a woven construction. These are different production methods, so specify which one you need.
If you are unsure, send an example and explain the appearance and hand feel you want. We can discuss the suitable route without assuming the name alone defines the product.
Printed satin labels
Printed satin labels can carry a brand name, size information or other approved text. Material and ink selection should be discussed together with the garment care process.
Provide the print colours, dimensions, single-sided or double-sided requirement and any fold arrangement. Keep small lettering readable at the actual label size.
Satin-weave branding
A satin weave can provide a smoother, more lustrous ground than some alternative constructions. The final appearance depends on yarn, artwork and contrast.
Do not assume that a shiny ground automatically reproduces every fine line or small letter. Review the actual design at the required dimensions.
Folds and comfort
Labels can sit at necklines, side seams or waistbands, each with different comfort and sewing requirements. Edge finish, fold and placement affect the finished experience.
Specify visible size separately from cut size and identify any area that will be hidden in a seam.
Make the specification yours.
